Mossley v Glossop North End - 17th April

Liam Ellis has just made it 2-1 - first goal for Mossley and oh so important !!!

Mossley are staying up - 'twas squeaky bum time as ... if Mossley lose their last two and Goole win their last two ... disaster.   Fortunately - when Mossley were 0-1 down - word came through that Brighouse were 2-0 up against Goole (both goals scored by ex-Lilywhite Mike Fish - thank you a million times !!!).  Anyroad up - Mossley did it themselves ... pics at

Ashton United v Blyth Spartans - 15th April

Luke Pilling saves the pen - despite the efforts of Trump, Wall and Bandidos ...

A little bit of Mexico came to town on Saturday - together with Donald Trump and a paper wall - a celebratory "day out" for the Champions - honours even at the end, but a grand day out for all I'm sure ...

(Still never forgiven Blyth for that 7-1 defeat of Mossley a fair few years ago ...)

Short Break ...

An early "Banksy" on the wall of the Chapel @ Haddon Hall ...

Sneaked a few days down at "Chez Caravano" before the Easter rush with friends - sadly the weather (and injured personnel) was against us - so just a short wander above Castleton on Thursday and a wander around Haddon Hall on Friday

Pre-Easter Break ...

Ashton United v Stafford Rangers - 11th April

Where were the black and white stripes ?

Carrying on with my "Whoever you want to win - they lose" formula - a chance to see the old home town ... not good ... but obviously a quiet "well done" to a team I've been checking out all season.

Sunday Solo Walk - 9th April

Says it all really ...

Lovely day - wife away - but criminal not to take a bit of a stroll ...

The Quandary that is Stalybridge Celtic ...

A no-pic post !!!

OK .. it does tend to be mostly Mossley on here - but you'll obviously  have seen the trips to other places as well - and I've done 'Bridge a fair few times this season - and I reckon I've only seen 'em win once !  When fixtures collide (as they do) I'll end up going local - and I've not seen Stalybridge for a fair few weeks.

In that time they've managed 7 points out of 9 - it could well be the "great escape" from relegation - who knows ?? Especially with rumours of clubs going under.  Today they've managed to beat (top of the table) AFC Fylde 2-1 to keep that trapdoor open (or should that be shut ?)  - on Tuesday night they're at home to Kiddermister Harriers - could this run continue ??
Should I go ?? Answer being "no" for other reasons - it's going to be one of my very very few chances to see Stafford Rangers ... who are up at Ashton United - a re-arranged game that was postponed a month or so ago.

People have lucky pants, lucky socks, lucky allsorts - and I'm going to stick with the lucky absences - at this time of 'Bridges season I reckon points are far more important than pictures ...

Mossley Academy v Kidsgrove Athletic Academy - 5th April

Moses Nsiala ...

The Cup run comes to an end - quite quickly ... twas not exactly "men against boys" ... more "big boys against smaller boys" ... no disgrace - 'tis an academy therefore a learning process ...

..and when I say "learning process" I do tend to mean all the nasty things that now envelope football - sad but true (and if you don't know what I mean ... start watching pro-netball) ...
