Matlock Town v Hednesford Town - 30th January

Harry Limb on the chase for Matlock ...

... in the Integro Cup - after weathering the early storm, Matlock took the lead ... then it all went downhill from there ...

Rumours going round Derbyshire that my "move" into the area has brought bad luck to all teams I've watched (Belper Town, Matlock Town and Holbrook Sports so far ...) .... I point the finger at Mossley - who ain't doing so good since I left ... such is the beautiful game !

Peterborough Sports v Belper Town - 27th January

 Haydn Goddard clears ...

Another "bugger" involving bad start, red card and ... you can guess the rest ...

Shipley Park Walk - 24th January

Spring is on the way ...

Out for a walk on Wednesday with the Belper U3A walking group round Shipley Park - once an area of coal mines, quarries and old railways - now a large country park. A touch moist to begin with (!) but weather did improve.  A few (dry) pics at

Lee Williamson strikes for the only goal of the game ...

A hard-earned three points - but well deserved after a much improved second half performance - the unbeaten run stretches - pics at

Four Walks in One - 14th January

Looking down on Matlock Town Football Club ...

Why do one walk when you can do four ??  Four shortish walks around Cromford, Matlock Bath and Matlock combined into a 10 mile day out ... pics at

Alvechurch v Belper Town - 13th January

Leandro Browne sets the ball rolling - 1-0 to Belper ...

A win !!!  Didn't make the midweek game at Chesterfield (Derbyshire Senior Cup - 0-0 lost on pens), but the word was "much improved" - and it showed on Saturday.  Belper rode their luck a bit at the start - but a penalty save and a disallowed Alvechurch goal was the catalyst for an excellent performance.
